Four firm processes where the AI checks and the lawyer signs.

Each sheet states what the AI does, what stays with your teams, how it is tested on your own files before being used, and what makes it stop. These are typical examples, not client results.

The principle

The argument stays with the lawyer.

The AI checks citations and flags the clauses to read. It does not draft your submissions. Every process has an error threshold written down before the test. If it is not met, the process stops.

Hosting

Privilege stays inside the firm.

The guidelines of the OVB and avocats.be (January 2025) prohibit entering information covered by professional privilege into an AI tool, except in a closed environment offering sufficient safeguards. For your files, the AI therefore runs on a server at the firm. Citation checking and monitoring cover public sources.

Framework

The price of an invented citation.

The Antwerp Court of Appeal imposed €25,000 in total — a €2,500 fine for abuse of process and €7,500 for each of the three opposing parties — over submissions drafted with AI that cited case law which did not exist. Whoever files remains responsible for what is filed. The checking sheet verifies every citation against the official source before signature.
