What Astérisme is

Astérisme designs interactive knowledge constellations to help people transmit what is meant to last. The name is borrowed from astronomy: an asterism is a recognizable pattern of stars that human eyes have traced from the Earth, without the permission of any institution. It is a figure that holds because someone bothered to draw it.

We believe knowledge behaves the same way. Scattered, brilliant, indifferent, until a human mind connects points and a figure appears. Astérisme is a tool for that gesture, applied to what a person, a team, or an organization knows and would like to pass on.

We work with a small number of partners. We are slow on purpose. Our engagements are measured in years.

Origin

Astérisme was founded after a personal event in March 2026 that made the need for such a tool unmistakable to its founders. The account of that night belongs to the private sphere; what survived it became the project. The detailed origin is told in our founder manifesto.

The intuition was simple. Most of what an adult understands slowly, sometimes at high cost, leaves with them. Between the book very few will write and the file no one will open, almost nothing exists. Astérisme settles into that space.

Structure

Astérisme LLC is an American company in formation in the State of Wyoming, co-founded as equal partners by Benjamin De Bruijne and Lou Legnini. There are no outside investors. We have no plan to raise capital as long as we can avoid it, and we do not sell the attention of our users.

The technical infrastructure of our services runs in Europe, in the Netherlands. The choice is deliberate: it keeps our public position on informational sovereignty consistent with the concrete conditions of our operation.

We charge for our work, transparently. Pricing is communicated in writing before any commitment. There is no free tier, no freemium, no upsell.

What we refuse

We refuse the vocabulary of extraction, growth, scale, and disruption. We refuse to ship mechanisms that capture attention at the expense of the thing entrusted to us. We refuse to use partner data for any purpose other than the one for which it was entrusted. We refuse, contractually, engagements whose stated or foreseeable outcome is workforce reduction. These commitments are written into every master services agreement we sign, and are described in detail on our commitments page.

How to engage

Astérisme works with a small circle and accepts a limited number of new partners each year. Serious inquiries receive a personal reply within fifteen days, written by one of the co-founders.
